Housing Pendle recognised for giving power to their people

Housing Pendle has been recognised for empowering its staff after being awarded the IIP (Investors in People) certification.

The Investors in People standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation’s performance through its people.

And after two days of intense scrutiny by the IIP assessor, Housing Pendle sailed through with flying colours and can now carry the famous mark.

The IIP assessor, in her final report, said: “The assessor was impresseStaff at Housing Pendle celebrate gaining IIP accreditation.d with the culture and overall atmosphere within the organisation which could be described as friendly, welcoming, integrated and relaxed but focused on the delivery of high performance and results.

“The cultural aspects of the organisation are well balanced with the key drivers to ensure raising standards for customers and the workforce.

“It is a well-led organisation with a senior management who are well respected, have implemented strong people strategies and demonstrate role model behaviours to ensure consistency in communication.

Ian Clark, Housing Pendle’s Executive Director, said: “Our people are our biggest and best asset and that’s why training and development is at the forefront of our planning.

“So to gain the IIP accreditation with such a ringing commendation from the assessor shows that we’re going in the right direction.”
Housing Pendle staff celebrated gaining the accreditation with a special celebratory football-themed lunch on the day of the England v Slovenia World Cup 2010 Group C game.
